Biography
It all started on a cold January night almost a decade and a half ago. Vocalist Dean Kush and drummer
Aaron Habicht were in no man’s land…the band that they were part of was no more…but they knew that
they wanted to keep performing. While calling some industry connections a few days earlier they had come
up with a few names that they could start a new band with. Sitting in a small apartment that night…Faster Gun
was born…
Since that night musicians have come and gone but the core of Faster Gun remained.
With the release of their first album, 1995’s “Take A Chance”, Faster Gun’s been a fixture on the country
music scene. “Take A Chance” was followed up with 1999’s “Something Real” and they’re latest album
entitled “Back Again.”
Throughout their career, Faster Gun’s been honoured with 12 wins at the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards
as well as an Independent Group of the Year nomination at the Canadian Country Music Awards. They are the reigning SCMA Album of the Year winners for their 2007 release “Back Again”, and the album has also resulted in Faster Gun being the most played Saskatchewan country band on Canadian country radio.
Industry buzz has been generated by recent performances in Nashville in which Faster Gun was invited to perform on Billy Block’s Western Beat live radio/webcast show.
“We’ve always performed for nobody but ourselves and our fans. We’ve been very fortunate over the years and
will continue to perform as long as people are there to support us!”
